Momma Robin Doing Her Job

Such a good Mom.

Mother_robing_doing_her_job

She hardly gets off the nest now so I think she is due any day now. There is only one egg. I know this because we discovered her nest by accident recently when my husband went to grab that box off the top shelf where I store gardening supplies to see what was in it. The nest almost landed on his head. He caught the box, nest and all, and looked in it. He was  surprised and then gently relocated it back on the shelf. We were a little afraid Mama Robin wouldn't come back to it but she did. This is the 2nd year she has chosen the south side of our house for a nest.

Moving, Pulling My Hair Out

Why do we have so much crap!?!

Pulling_my_hair_out
Ten years of bank statements, "receipts for everything we've ever paid for," warranties and manuals for everything we have ever owned,  documentation for every legal transaction ever transpired and  much more.  I am o.........ver it. I swear from now on we are going paperless. ( I promise I will back-up.) I have reduced our paper piles from five file drawers to only two. I hope I didn't shred anything too important.

I swear I am not a hoarder or a collector of worthless stuff.  I do not have a hundred shoes, salt shakers or knick-knacks everywhere. Still.......

Jenny-kindergarden_art
My daughter made his for me in kindergarden. Should I ditch it? Arghhhh... I can't do it.

True, I am nostalgic and have a few too many boxes of photos, memorablilia and precious "crap" I can't part with.

OK. I confess, I have managaed to keep about every camera I have ever had. That is NOT crap.

Pack, pack and pack and I will store it somewhere.

Cicely Can't Get Enough Rope

(download)

Cicely is my friend's dog, named after the Alaskan city made famous by Northern Exposure. She is a frisky, beautiful 3 year old lab. Her mother was a white lab and her father was a golden lab and she is perfection in between.

Proud of her catch. She can't get enough of me throwing the rope or the stick.

When Lambs Arrive, Spring is Not Far Away

It is only the 1st week of March and signs of Spring are in the air.  The Colorado Winter will be back but today these little guys were a sweet reminder that Spring is only a few weeks away.

The Internet is a Yellow Submarine

If Yellow Submarine were released today I would be positive it was written about the Internet and Social Media.

They all live in a yellow submarine

We live on computers in the waves of the Internet.

LIfe of Information around the sun, our friends are all onboard (social media)

and the bands of online music begins to play.

Drop the cable and get on board. Aye Aye.

Full speed ahead Browsers, Full speed ahead.

We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine.

Yellow Submarine
Songwriters: Lennon, John; Mccartney, Paul;
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines

So we sailed on to the sun
Till we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

And our friends are all aboard
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play

We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

{Full speed ahead Mr. Boatswain, full speed ahead
Full speed ahead it is, Sgt.
Cut the cable, drop the cable
Aye, aye, Sir, aye, aye
Captain, captain}

As we live a life of ease
Every one of us has all we need
(One of us, has all we need)
Sky of blue and sea of green
(Sky of blue, sea of green)
In our yellow submarine
(In our yellow, submarine, aha)

Enjoying the 2010 Telluride Brews and Blues Festival

Telluride, Colorado is  famous for some fabulous outdoor concerts in a mountain backdrop of the majestic San Juan mountains. This September we were able to catch one day of the 17th Annual Brews and Blues Festival.

As wonderful as the musician lineup was, we were too restless and couldn't do an entire weekend of hanging out in crowds, drinking beer and listening to bands. (We had to get out and hike)  We opted for one day and chose Friday with headliner,  George Thorougood and the Destroyers.

So much energy.  Thanks for a fantastic performance!

Jimmie Vaughan and his Tilt-a-Whirl-Band took us for a rockin ride before George.

This acoustic blues artist, Alex Maryl was awesome. Discover his music at cdbaby.

Bungy_jumping

Ok, I must confess, one of favorite events of the day was the bungie jumping in the kiddie park. See my video.
This year the weather, the brews and the music were terrific but we have heard that there has been some horrendous weather at some of these outdoor events.  We'll attend again September 2011 year for sure and bring friends. (if the weather holds.)
